In early 1994 Sustainable Sources made the Austin Green Building Program's (GBP) Sourcebook available in electronic format through our (then active) Sustainable Sources bulletin board service. The GBP was looking for a way to get this information out to a wider audience in Austin and to make it available to people outside of the Austin area without spending their time and energy marketing it. Shortly thereafter, we also converted the Sourcebook to the Web.
In the years that have passed, many changes have occurred in the world of green building. Sustainable Sources has updated our web version of the Sourcebook, and the Austin GBP has completely rewritten theirs in a different format. We greatly appreciate the GBP's forsight and willingness to allow us to spin the Sourcebook off in the directions we feel need to be addressed.
We're always looking for sites that will enhance the information here. If you know of any sites that demonstrate an aspect of sustainable building that is appropriate to include here, let us know. Non-commercial sites will be linked if the content contributes to or extends the information in the chapter, and commercial sites are encouraged to sponsor a chapter or list themselves using the links in the Resource section which is found at the end of each chapter.
