WWAT: hello from another land project near you!

Hi,
my name is Rachel and I ama 26 yr old member of a year old country living
project with 4 friends in South Central Kentucky (between Columbia and
Liberty).  We have 22 acres and a 20 yr old Amish house (no electricity
and the barest bones of plumbing) that is already getting crowded.  My
friend Thomas visited us and has since sent me your email adress and some
description of who you are, and reading it is almost like reading about
us.  I'm so curious as to who you all are and where you came from and what
you have been doing.  We are from Louisville, mostly, and still have
enough connections there that we are there alot working and visiting. but
we have had time to put together the biggest garden I have ever worked on,
and to transform the trash-filled barn and three outbuildings to where we
are close to getting some goats and chickens and ducks together.  We have
a good chunk of forested land and a creek and it is just beautiful here. 
We have made great connections with a few close neighbors who are just as
different from us as they are from each other, but good hearted, like
minded people.  One of them set up his forge in our workshop!  We want to
build here, get some off grid electric together, and hopefully have a cash
crop to get us working here to pay off the mortgage.
