looking for folks who dont mind getting dirty! our red clay has
stained us orange - we've been digging it out, moving it around (at
little as possible), and tamping it back down, and could use someone
whowanted to learn which end of the mattock you chop clay with, and
which end cuts roots.
we're a fledgling homestead, all solar powered in the amazing
sequatchie valley, tennesse (near chattanooga), in a community of
communities. every day is a new adventure in independant personal
responsibility, but we're pretty comfortable. and we're not out here
to work 80 hours a week... though we usually do anyway, if you count
every chore. that's the big advantage of having no commute!
we're open to helpers now, and are organizing a workshop in september,
on earthbags, timberframe/roundpole, sustainable wood harvest, home
milling and who knows what else. contact me if you're interested, and
stay alert for updates!
